Introduction
COPE is one the few local organizations that plan to operate in Capacity building, rehabilitation, Rural Development, Education, coordination, livestock, Health conservation, Literacy, Consultancy, and Gender and vocational services. COPE is a license registered with the Ministry of Economy and other governmental and international organizations. COPE works encompass programmers for education, health, support to persons with disabilities, and rural development. There are also support units for all program activities relating to quality assurance, civil society, human rights & gender, and information. COPE’s main target group is the rural population, specifically women and girls. Operations include capacity development, advocacy, and service delivery. The work is always conducted in close cooperation with the local population.
Identity
COPE holds an official license from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Economics, COPE intends to work all over Afghanistan. The targets of the Organization are Capacity Building and Development of Agriculture, Democracy, Development of Human Welfare, Defense of Human Rights, Poverty Reduction & Sustainable livelihood, the invention of civil society, and the creation of opportunities for vocational training. COPE exists to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities. COPE strongly believes in long-term community-driven development. It is therefore natural for us to seek long-term partnership arrangements. One of the key elements that we are keen on making the center of our work here is the three-way partnership between communities, the government, and nongovernmental organizations, including the private sector actors.
Our Vision is an independent Afghanistan in peace, where human rights are respected, rural communities are empowered and all human especially have the right and opportunity to democratic participation in the governance of their country.
